10 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Can't Catch A Break

There was a time when Halo absolutely dominated the FPS genre. All of the Bungie-developed entries became some of the most popular games on Xbox and were responsible for many gamers making the move from PlayStation to Xbox. Infact, many would consider the Halo series to be a key part of their childhood.

Sadly, the magic of Halo seemed to disappear with the jump to the next generation. With the PS4 performing better than the Xbox One, a great Halo game could've turned the tide. Unfortunately Halo 4 didn't quite gain the popularity that previous instalments had, and Halo 5: Guardians pretty much flew under the radar. It just seems that new developers 343 Industries got their hands on the franchise as it began to lose steam.

Even the recently announced Halo: Infinite has been unlucky enough to be criticised and mocked by the online community for its graphics and a more open world approach.

It's just strange to see when you consider just how powerful the Halo name used to be back in the day.
