10 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Can't Catch A Break
1. Hitman
The Hitman franchise has been around quite a while now and was recently given a soft-reboot in 2016, just four years ago. In that time there has been two releases and a third one has been recently announced to be release in early 2021. That's a pretty good turnaround for avid fans of the series, especially when the games don't feel rushed at all despite the studio losing its publisher between instalments.
But for some reason the titles just don't seem to do as well as you would expect in the charts. While many were put off with episodic format that the reboot decided to go with, the games themselves are fantastically designed and are really fun. While they may only feature a handful of levels each, the amount of content to get through is staggering and the replay value is easily worth the money.
With so many people frustrated with games that lock content behind a paywall, it seems odd that Hitman doesn't get more attention for how much is packed into a small package. Hopefully Hitman 3 will get the love and attention it deserves. The first glimpse at the game has garnered some pretty positive reception, so hopefully it'll be enough to draw new and old fans in alike.
