10 Iconic Video Game Mascots That Don't Matter Anymore
9. Vault Boy
Fallout wouldn't be the same without Vault Boy. This charming and amusing mascot is a staple of the franchise and is your trusty go to companion within the Pip-Boy.
Vault Boy appears as the poster child for the in-game Vault-Tec Corporation, providing the player with charming imagery explaining each perk, trait, and skill. Vault Boy has a life of his own, and he is an irreplaceable feature of Bethesda's creation.
With the roaring success over the years of Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4, the Fallout video game series was one of the most popular of all time and Vault Boy was one of the most influential mascots in the world of pop culture.
But with the controversial 2018 release of Fallout 76, the first online multiplayer instalment in the series, the positive reception towards Fallout quickly diminished and dragged down the popularity of Vault Boy.
As of writing, there is no confirmation of a new Fallout game, or a return to its great roots, and therefore Vault Boy's status will continue to be tarnished for the foreseeable future.
