10 Iconic Video Games That Could Be Made Perfect With Remakes

1. Metal Gear Solid

Out of all the main Metal Gear Solid games, it's only this first PS1 release that feels dated to play today. Annoyingly the gap in quality between this first title and those that came after it has only become wider as time has worn on, as the rest of the series' early efforts have enjoyed multiple different HD remasters and ports across the years while the original title has been criminally overlooked.

But the things is, a full remake has actually been attempted before - and it almost got it right. The GameCube release of The Twin Snakes attempted to update the core gameplay by adding elements that were introduced in the title's sequels, however it fell just short of being the faithful and definitive adaptation it could have been thanks to a few questionable changes to characters and design.

As unofficial fan recreations have proved, you could make the first MGS look gorgeous with today's technology, and with a bit of love (then again, that's asking a bit much from Konami these days) a remake could definitively capture the cinematic flair that Metal Gear Solid's blocky character models and stilted animations always undermined.
