10 Iconic Video Games That NEED A Remake

4. Soul Reaver: Legacy Of Kain

On the one hand it's always amazed me that developers haven't tried to breathe new life into the Legacy of Kain at all in 16 years but, on the other, the fact that Amy Hennig took her creative genius off to make Uncharted probably explains it.

The series gifted us 5 games - Soul Reaver 2 being the only direct sequel to this one - as well as an abortive attempt to turn the property into an online multiplayer experience in 2015. None of it ever, ever got as good as this though; an astonishing, quasi-vampire, gothic horror tale that perfectly interweaves different realities and dimensions across the same space.

The mechanics aren't much to write home about as you effectively just slice your way across different astral plains, but the core story was something that felt so big and interesting that you hardly noticed. There were puzzles to solve, challenges to overcome, and you did it all in a genuinely unique way for the time.

You could argue a modern sequel to the title's maybe a better idea but, given how well the original game would translate to a modern console, a remake would be the best way to introduce a whole new audience to the world of Nosgoth.
