10 Incredible Bosses In Terrible Video Games

5. Devil May Cry 2 - Arius

If one were to average out the Devil May Cry series, it scores highly and has shifted many units. But for every DMC 3 and the most recent fifth game, there's Devil May Cry 2 dragging the score down. You thought the reboot was bad? At least it wasn't pimped out by Diesel jeans.

Devil May Cry 2 is not a great game. After the breakthrough of the first one, the first sequel should have been better. Instead, it just felt devoid of life, more a rushed out sequel that was then largely ignored when Dante's Awakening came out.

Yet it did have Arius, the eccentric antagonist at its helm. Fought in Dante's mission, Arius is the pain in the ass behind events.

Even his boss fight is nothing immediately special, as players are tasked with taking out more goons than the man himself. Think a precursor the Arkham Asylum Joker goon fight, for comparison.

But once they're dispatched, it's taking out Arius that spices things up. He's quick, and will catch you off guard if not careful. Whilst a setup for some bigger bosses afterwards, he's still entertaining up until his death.
