Gone Home is a story that involves you walking around and searching things in order to continue the story to progress - as basically a 3d point-and-click adventure, more or less.

However, unlike similar games such as Firewatch or What Remains of Edith Finch, reception to Gone Home was decidedly mixed, as many felt the game's story was too loose for most of the game, and then resolved too easy.

And things only got more heated when it was revealed that you could actually beat this whole game in about two minutes - by finding the hidden key to the final room of the game, which you can literally accidentally find in about ten minutes if you're thorough enough at searching each area.

While it's understandable that this secret was placed here - as presumably the creators thought it would stay hidden under the later reveal.

However, it's also understandable that this irritated people, as it made the entire (legitimately interesting) story the game provides feel way cheaper, because you could have missed all of it out in the first place.
