10 Incredible Sequels That Came From Terrible Video Games

3. Assassin€™s Creed II

Sadly, while there was palpable expectation surrounding the original Assassin€™s Creed on its first release, the actual game itself turned out to be a rather underwhelming and repetitive experience. With simple combat and uninspired missions, it seemed that although the core concept of the title was an incredibly original one, Ubisoft's first effort in the series just couldn€™t execute and build these solid concepts into an interesting overall game, relying far too much on repetition to fill the hours in. Fortunately, for Assassin€™s Creed 2 Ubi took all of the criticisms of the first game to heart and went back to the drawing board. By hunkering down to flesh out the ideas that worked best in the original title, this sequel managed to improve on almost every aspect of its underwhelming predecessor. With a wider selection of tasks, a more expansive and diverse game world and an iconic hero in Ezio (who is still considered the face of the franchise, even though he hasn€™t starred in an Assassin€™s Creed title in over three games now), Ubisoft's epic sequel proved to be everything the original game was hyped up to be and then some.
