10 Incredible Video Game Character Easter Eggs You Totally Missed

We all know that Sonic the Hedgehog on the SEGA Megadrive was the very first appearance of SEGA's most famous creation right? Wrong!

Though that title was the first game where Sonic played the protagonist, he actually made an appearance in an arcade title called Rad Mobile before he ever hit the SEGA Megadrive.

So just what was Sonic doing in a little-known arcade game before anybody even knew who the character was? Why he was hanging from the rear-view mirror of the car the player was driving of course.

Sonic as a car air freshener seems like an extremely odd way to introduce the character to the gaming masses, which is probably why so few people thought anything of it when they played the game. It wasn't until a few months later - when the blue blur exploded onto the scene - that people actually started to pay attention to that odd little hedgehog swinging around in front of them.
