10 Incredible Video Game Character Easter Eggs You Totally Missed
8. Kirby (Link's Awakening)
Kirby has been one of the Nintendo stalwarts ever since its introduction back in 1992 and always seems to be on the side of good. Granted, he looks a little bit like a pink testicle with feet and a big mouth, but he has been popular with gamers from the off and generally stars in good titles.
When Nintendo decided to bring Link and his adventures to handhelds it was a risky move. The game that would become Link's Awakening would take around ten hours to complete and some wondered if people would be willing to play a handheld game that required so much dedication.
As such, Nintendo offered plenty of fan service for those who played the title. As such, Link's Awakening featured a number of different cameos but none were more shocking than Kirby.
This time around Kirby was actually a villain that could be fought in various dungeons in the game. Dubbed 'Anti-Kirby', the enemy was apparently the evil twin of the Kirby we all know and love and was capable of inhaling Link.
The enemy was a fairly rare encounter and many players of the time may have been completely unaware of the character at all. Even now, players will need to wait around to see Anti-Kirby do its things and reveal its true roots.
