10 INCREDIBLE Video Game Secrets Found By Hacking
2. The Fesse - Final Fantasy XIV
Perhaps some game discoveries are best left hidden. Such a sentiment is applicable to a seriously creepy unfinished dungeon located in MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV known as 'The Fesse'.
Found only in the original 1.0 version of the 2010 version of the game before Square Enix relaunched the title in 2013, this unfinished dungeon can be found in the game's mountains, blocked by an NPC guarding the entrance who orders you to "withdraw at once".
The contents of this area seemed to be locked away for good. But that was until YouTuber Speakers Network - who continues to explore the defunct game - managed to gain access by some clever means in late 2017.
What he discovered was an unfinished dungeon with lots of winding paths. While the area seemed underwhelming at first, he soon noticed the sound of footsteps growing closer. And on watching his gameplay footage , he spotted a strange floating head lingering in the background before disappearing.
It's still unknown what horrors were intended to be found, and it's likely that we ever will.
However, the whole thing is made slightly less scary when you learn that the word 'fesse' is French for 'buttocks'.
