10 Incredible Video Games With Weak Final Acts
3. Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is a cult classic of the RPG genre. The game does a brilliant job of immersing you in its dark world of bloodsuckers, with a gripping storyline and a plethora of options to progress through it.
This said due to the financial struggles of Troika Games', the studio responsible for Bloodlines, the game is far from perfect. It's riddled with bugs and odd errors, but worst of all, it completely drops the ball in the final act of its story.
Whereas the first few chapters of Bloodlines contain plenty of engaging side quests and give you an almost entirely free hand when it comes to dialogue and gameplay, the latter part turns into an incredibly straight-forward and boring sequence of fights with angry goons. Your only real choice is where you want to fight these angry goons.
There's barely any meaningful dialogue or alternative ways of resolving conflict in the latter parts. You either pick up a weapon and fight... or don't.
And while it can be fun to make use of your vampiric powers, being forced to do so in a nonstop gauntlet of repetitious combat is just tiring.
Anyone who's had to suffer through the sewer level in Hollywood knows exactly why.
