10 Incredibly Moving Scenes In Video Games Ruined By Player Input

7. Assassin's Creed II - Your Family Were Killed? Too Bad

I swear this whole "bereavement escaping" thing has become a trend in video games. Ezio's family friend has betrayed his family and had them hanged, what a prat. This tragic cut scene was tremendously well-done and a real highlight of the game's themes of secret societies and back-stabbing. Oh dear, we have to escape the guards. How about rather than force me to go free-running after watching my family essentially be murdered, you give me time to mourn my digital kin? They weren't real people but a video game protagonist is an extension of the player so their family is your family by association. Plus, there's a chance you can die and have to do it again, stupid Ubisoft.
