10 Incredibly Strange Celebrity Video Game Cameos

7. Burt Reynolds In Saints Row: The Third

The Saints Row games are legitimately insane before you even get to the copious celebrity cameos featured throughout the series. What began as nothing more than a cheap Grand Theft Auto knock-off somehow metamorphosed into one of the most gleefully unhinged (and consistently entertaining) video game franchises going, taking players from violent gang banger fantasy to becoming President Of The United States and fighting aliens in a computer simulation that allowed you to fly, have more powers than Superman, and bludgeon people to death with dildos. Pretty crazy, right? Then you factor in the inexplicable appearances from celebrities, and somehow the whole thing manages to go even further off the deep end. Take, for example, the reveal in the third game of who has been keeping the series' fictional setting of Steelport running in the face of all the nuttiness the player rains down up it: Mayor Burt-f*cking-Reynolds. As the man himself rhetorically asks, who else? Reynolds appears, as himself, as the leader of a fictional city. And said appearance involves him sitting behind a huge desk, with a well-ednowned woman sat on his lap. And he's wearing a ten-gallon cowboy hat. And he tasks the player with sorting out the zombie problem he needs taking care of. And at the end of the game he's tied to a statue and dies. Burt Reynolds. From Smokey And The Bandit. With the moustache and bolo tie and everything. It's actually only his second strangest role ever, behind his star turn as a porn mogul in Boogie Nights.
