10 Infamous Video Game Glitches That Cost You 100%
4. Memory Wipe - Soul Calibur III
Finishing Soulcalibur III can be a lot of hard and tedious work, which is why you want to save your progress as often and frequently as possible.
The problem, however, is that saving too much can actually remove your progress altogether, thanks to the infamous Soulcalibur III memory corruption bug.
Back in the PlayStation 2 era, a large group of players made the unfortunate discovery that their brand new copy of Soulcalibur III would randomly corrupt their save files, completely preventing them from loading them up.
It was eventually discovered that the reason behind the data corruption was modifying other files on the memory card with your Soulcalibur save. What this meant was that deleting or altering save files from other games or even other Soulcalibur files would trigger the corruption bug.
In summary, you basically had to dedicate a blank memory card specifically for one and only one Soulcalibur data file, or else you could never progress through the game.
Unfortunately, the bug is still present in the regular version of Soulcalibur III, so if you want to spare yourself the headache of dealing with it, you need to get the bug-free Platinum Edition copy of the game.
