10 Infamously Banned Games From Around The World

3. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 €“ State of Chihuahua, Mexico

Ghost Recon Set in the near future of two months time in 2014, immediately after the original GRAW and focusing on battling a Mexican rebel group, GRAW 2 is a popular tactical flying shooter and another game rolled off the Tom Clancy product line. GRAW 2 comes with a rare ban story as it is freely available throughout Mexico, except in the state of Chihuahua. The mayor of Ciudad Juarez criticized the game for trying to scare away tourists, and along with Chihuahua's governor, they accused the title of insulting Mexico and its people. They viewed it as antagonising and stereotyping its locals and demanded authorities seize any copies in Mexico and ban it from sale. This naturally fell on deaf ears but was upheld in Chihuahua where it remains banned and probably will be for the foreseeable future though you have to suspect that there's not a massive number of people losing sleep over that in Chihuahua.
