10 Infuriatingly Overpowered Video Game Enemies

6. Chaurus - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Dragon Age Inquisition Bears

Remember when you thought that the dragons would be the hardest thing to kill in this game? That certainly feels like a quaint time, doesn't it?

No, dragons in Skyrim slowly turned from awe-inspiring spectacle to annoying nuisance that kept you from fast travelling. No, the mythical land's true menace was the Chaurus.

These mostly underground dwelling bastards resemble large earwigs. They also move incredibly quickly, have powerful melee attacks, and can spit poison for some serious long range damage. Poison effects can quickly stack, so finding your health draining in seconds is not so uncommon.

This is yet another enemy type frequently found in groups. Even worse, the combination of dark environments and grey shells means that they can be really hard to see.

Ah yes, those shells, which dull your attacks no matter what level you're at. Evidently Bethesda didn't think that a "Nuclear Bomb" destruction spell would ever be effective, then designed the Chaurus like this anyway.

In many cases, having an enemy be such a nightmare to kill would at least reward you by dropping some useful or pricey loot. There's none to be found here, unless you're the type of player that really likes alchemy or falmer weapons.

For the rest of us, it's probably best to flex those sneak skills.
