B.C. If nothing else, Peter Molyneux is an incredibly ambitious video game creator, who nevertheless has a disappointing habit of failing to live up to his own lofty goals. Case in point is B.C., a game that would have allowed players to control a prehistoric tribe, who they then had to level up and help fend off natural predators to become the dominant species. In true Molyneux style, even while the game was in production he expressed fears about it, stating "the ambitious nature of the gameplay and the high standards the people developing it are pushing for" meant that he couldn't announce a concrete release date. The problems just mounted up for this one very quickly; Molyneux found the Xbox restrictive to develop for, the project was worked on by two studios, and the lead designer bailed half-way through. In 2004, it was eventually binned, despite having more promise than the majority of the art project-games Molyneux seems to release these days...
