The beauty of survivor horror games like Dying Light is that they don’t have to be fixed to a specific genre. They can mash together different storytelling elements and become something completely new. With Dying Light 2 coming out in 2020, Techland have the opportunity to improve on the aspects that made the first game so memorable.
In the second game, players take on the role of a new protagonist called Aiden Caldwell. While trying to survive in a zombie-infested world, Caldwell will come across various factions that will force him to make different decisions.
The presence of a new RPG-based system means players will have to consider their choices. Dying Light 2 also places a greater emphasis on narrative, with Caldwell’s choices effecting how NPCs view him.
Unsurprisingly, zombies are an important part of the narrative as well. They will force NPCS into situations that bring on unforeseen consequences and encourage multiple playthroughs.
