10 Insanely Awful Video Games In Famous Franchises
4. Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight
Until this game, Command & Conquer was a shining example of the RTS genre, guaranteed to offer a fast-paced harvest-build-destroy gameplay formula that we've come to know and love the series for. Tiberian Twilight promised a fitting end to the story, while taking the gameplay in an innovative new direction that'd give us reason to be excited about the future of the franchise. But it completely failed to deliver, with laughable live-action cut-scenes undermining what was already an anemic plot, and the promised gameplay changes ruining one of the core facets of the series - namely base-building, which was removed completely from the game, and the joy of upgrading units, which was essentially locked off until hours into the campaign. 'But at least they tried to evolve the series and do something different, right?' Well, yes they did, but that was still the wrong damn decision when everything they did differently completely desecrated the essence of what made the franchise great. C & C never really recovered from the mess of Tiberian Twilight, and hopes of the series making a triumphant comeback were shattered when Command & Conquer Generals 2 - which promised to take it back to its roots - was cancelled by EA.
