10 Insanely Hard Achievements Hidden Inside Easy Games
1. Tubular - Outer Wilds
Outer Wilds is an atmospheric first-person game that's more about casual exploration than any actual objective.
The game puts you inside a tiny universe stuck in a time loop and then gives you the choice to look for the source of the anomaly or simply enjoy the other oddities that happen around you.
This said, you can also choose to ignore both alternatives and ruin your entire experience trying to get the infamous "Tubular" achievement.
Although the description of the award is simple, getting it is anything but. To do it, you have to ride a raft on top of a wave that spawns ten minutes after the time loop starts for at least fifteen seconds.
As you might be already suspecting, riding the wave for even half of that time is ridiculously hard, as it requires very delicate but precise movement of your thrusters, and if you mess it up at any point, catching another raft takes a lot of waiting.
Unless you look up a guide for it, you might end up spending hours getting the achievement, which is especially painful when you realize the whole game technically takes less than twenty-two minutes.
There's a reason why Outer Wilds' fans hate the word "Tubular."
