10 Insanely Long Open-World Games That ARE Worth Finishing

4. Red Dead Redemption 2

The first Red Dead Redemption was pretty damn long, some might even say "dragged out" in several spots (hello Mexico chapter) but it pales in comparison to its sequel, with 50 hours to finish the main story, and over 150 for everything else.

But regardless of how you define the phrase "finishing" a game, whether it be just the main story or going for 100%, RDR2 is absolutely worth it from a story perspective alone.

Seeing the tragically methodical way the Van Der Linde gang fell apart is equal parts emotionally draining and yet wholly satisfying. Despite the fact that you know exactly how it's gonna end if you know anything about the first game, you still keep playing in the hopes that - just maybe - something different will happen.

That ability to keep the player hooked even when they know exactly what's coming is the mark of any good tragedy. And is more than worth working your way through this absolute nightmare of a game.
