10 Insultingly Bad Video Game Movie Characters

Detective Pikachu isn't necessarily a bad video game design, especially not if we're discussing the actual video game series "Detective Pikachu" as opposed to the main Pokemon series -- because the visual novel spin-off is surely what everyone thinks of when they hear Pikachu, right?

But despite the Pikachu remaining mostly the same, his redesign and character is so bafflingly odd that it's impossible to see this character as one that could ever exist in the game.

He is, in essence, PG Deadpool. He's a small, furry neonoir detective. Try to imagine reading this paragraph when Red & Blue/Green came out. What makes it somewhat odder is that this film is coming right after Pokemon Go! exploded Pokemon back into the public consciousness. There, Pikachu are random little monsters you catch with a ball.

Here, Pikachu looks like he'll beat you with a phone book and plant cocaine at a crime scene.
