10 Intense Video Game Multiplayer Modes You Won't Survive

For the most part, Call of Duty has been more concerned with being 'fun' than 'intense'. Sure, in its best moments, a regular multiplayer match across any of the games in the series can get the heart racing, but the instantaneous nature of its design usually means death is meaningless as you can always jump straight back into the fight.

One In The Chamber, on the other hand - a game type which debuted in the original Black Ops - used limited resources to make every bullet count and get the palms of players sweaty. Here, everyone in the match is given a single pistol loaded with one round, which kills instantly. If you miss, you have to hope your opponent does too, and then it's a race to see who can knife the other first.

Every successful kill gives you an extra bullet, and a limited amount of lives forces you to play smartly, while a radar showing the location of enemies eliminates camping.

All of these features make for fast, frantic rounds where the only thing between you and certain death is a single bullet.
