10 iPad Games That Are As Good As Anything On Consoles Right Now
8. The Detail
If you can't watch crime dramas on TV without thinking "there's not enough violence, gore, or rain here", then The Detail will appeal to you in ways you never thought possible. A gritty point-and-click adventure game that's been stuffed with an interactive graphic novel and put through a mincer, The Detail packs more punch than almost anything else in its genre. Telling the story of three protagonists of varying levels of experience and blood on their hands, the story winds through police corruption, gang wars, drug deals, with different situations opening up based on your decisions. It's in these moments that the game really comes into its own, with players forced to make snap decisions in the midst of some incredibly intense set-pieces. You'll want to go with your head, but so gripping are some of the situations that you'll instinctively go with your heart instead. It's a little light on puzzle work, but the story is enough to make up for that. It's also not the longest game, but if you're keen to go back through and make different decisions there's plenty of replayability with your actions spinning out lots of different consequences.
