10 Items That BROKE Video Games

6. Stun Arm - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hideo Kojima is a weird guy. On one hand, the Metal Gear Solid series features some of the most intricately detailed and realistic guns in video games. Then on the other hand, you are consistently discouraged from using them. For example, playing MGS3 non-lethally turns an entire boss fight into basically a nice little stroll.

So it was refreshing when Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain didn't include the usual incentives to be non-lethal, allowing more freedom to explore the game's full arsenal.

Until you unlock the Stun Arm.

The Stun Arm works just as advertised - an option for Snake's prosthetic arm that allows him to stun enemies with electricity without killing them. When you first get it, you have to walk up and touch someone to use it, which seems fair.

Fully upgraded, however, it turns you into as close to a god of thunder as you can get, enabling you to emit a massive shock wave that can stun almost every enemy in an outpost instantly. Bye bye stealth.
