10 Least Imaginative Pokémon From Generation I

6. Geodude

Pokemon Original 151
Nintendo

Objectively speaking, Geodude is an uninspired design.

It's nothing more than a floating rock with a face and arms. Its name is similarly noncreative because it basically just means "earth guy" or "ground guy". There's arguably not another Rock-type in the game that's this basic overall, so Genwunners would have had a field day with Geodude if Game Freak had introduced it in a different generation.

"Hah-hah! It's just a Pet Rock!" they'd chortle as they sip from their respective bottles of Mountain Dew.

Anyway, I will concede that Geodude was quite charming in the anime and that its final evolution, Golem, is awesome, but that doesn't change the fact that Geodude's design is incredibly simplistic. Also, Geodude and its evolution, Graveler, can be real f**king annoying in caves.

Seriously, stop self-destructing and killing my Pokémon.
