10 Least Intimidating Video Game Bosses (Who Kicked Your Ass)
4. Ursula - Kingdom Hearts
One thing that’s harder than describing the plot of Kingdom Hearts are the boss battles. More notably, original creations for the game.
Sure, some of the boss battles in those Disney worlds have pushed back a bit, but not enough to keep you on your toes.
Then there's Ursula.
As you explore the underwater sanctuary of The Little Mermaid’s world (which is terrible, by the way), you’ll be forced to fight against horrible swimming controls. This feeling is so bad, you have to imagine the developers sat around and thought how they could include the worst water level since the Water Temple in Zelda.
It all comes to a head when you finally meet the big, bad Ursula, who forces you and your party to fight against the currents of the sea in an attempt to end her reign. Her attacks are wide-sweeping and crushingly brutal, further enchanted by those god damn awful swimming controls.
Back in the day, Kingdom Hearts was fairly clunky and awkwardly mashed together game, meaning if you didn’t manage to make your way to the gigantic Ursula, it was a deadly battle of attrition.
The Little Mermaid was always one of my least favourite Disney films as a kid, and I think this is why.
