10 Least Intimidating Video Game Bosses (Who Kicked Your Ass)
5. Jak II - Baron Praxis
Jak and Daxter is one of the greatest platformers ever made. Jak II is a test of patience, endurance and willpower. It’s a challenging, punishing game that can crush even veterans of the genre.
Jak II broke out of its platforming conventions to focus on open-world gunplay in the the style of the GTA series. It was a bold move and had a difficulty that makes Dark Souls look like child’s play.
Cue Baron Praxis, a moustache wielding villain who looks like a reject from a Scooby-Doo cartoon. Hiding inside his steel mech, he spouts his intentions to kill me, but all I see is that invading moustache.
Though Jak II is a game that clearly prides itself on being challenging, enemies are usually fairly easy to kill - but not Baron Praxis. Instead, you’re treated to a rooftop battle, shrouded in a murky haze from the falling rain water. Toppled with the fact that his mech packs a punch.
Any deaths result in restarting the whole battle again, meaning you’ll be squinting to see the action and navigate through conveniently placed laser fields. It’s headache inducing stuff and now I hate that moustache twirling bastard.
