10 Least Threatening Video Game Protagonists

5. Q*bert (Q*bert)

Kirby character
Gottlieb

The armless orange wonder known only as Q*bert made his first appearance back in 1982 and has gone down in history as one of the most memorable video game characters of the arcade game era. Like many classic arcade creations, he has a very simplistic, cute design, a far cry from many of the tough heroes of modern video games.

The character was given a little trunk as he was originally designed to be able to shoot enemies, but this ability was removed, which basically just made Q*bert look pretty pathetic, hopping around on his stumpy limbs with a limp, useless trunk sticking out of the front of his face.

Q*bert may look pretty inoffensive, but is known for having a very foul mouth. Whenever he touches an enemy, a speech bubble appears filled with nonsensical characters, leaving the player to fill in the blanks and imagine what sort of angry expletives the character might really be saying.

Mike Pedley hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
