10 Legend Of Zelda Secrets You Still Haven’t Discovered

5. The Fishing Rod Trick (Twilight Princess)

Zelda Link
Nintendo

Twilight Princess' final boss Ganondorf is no pushover, but he is easily distracted.

Taking out your fishing rod during the battle will throw the villain off guard. For some reason, he's transfixed by the item like a cat with a piece of string, and while he stares aimlessly at it, you can land blows with the Master Sword.

You might think this is some kind of glitch, but Nintendo included it in the game deliberately, as a kind of in-joke. It's actually a reference to glitches in previous Zelda games which allowed players to defeat bosses with random objects.

For instance, Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time can be defeated with bottles, while Demise in Skyward Sword is distracted by the bug-catching net.
