10 Legend Of Zelda Secrets You Still Haven’t Discovered

6. Get The Golden Scale Early (Ocarina Of Time)

Even one of the greatest games ever made has a glitch you can exploit. In Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, it's possible to get your mitts on the Golden Scale much earlier than the developers intended with this simple trick.

If you're playing the game properly, Link doesn't score this item - which enables him to dive deeper underwater - until adulthood. In the timeline where he's a youth, players have to make do with the less effective Silver Scale.

But if you want gold before silver, here's what you need to do: go to the fishing pond and reel in a catch weighing at least eight pounds. Now head to the centre of the pond, make sure Navi isn't hovering over the fish, press the Z button and keep it held.

With your finger still on the trigger, head over to the owner of the fishing pond and talk to him. Instead of receiving a heart container as usual, you'll get the Golden Scale much earlier than you have any right to.
