10 Legendary Nintendo Characters We're All Sick To Death Of

9. Link

He may not be the most famous Nintendo character, but he is probably the most critically-acclaimed thanks to The Legend of Zelda being held by many to be one of the greatest games of all time, along with other great entries like Ocarina of Time. Another thing Link has going for him is the fact that Nintendo has frequently changed up his character design a bit throughout the games, most noticeably in-between the games Windwaker and Twilight Princess. Still, one thing Nintendo seems incapable of is reinventing the personality of Link, as well as the experience of actually playing as him. His character changes little from game to game, and the games always feature the same objectives and basic story-structure throughout, albeit with some cool tweaks to make sure the game sells well. Though Skyward Sword continued this tradition of moving the same character types to a new-ish setting, we're ready for something akin to the shift in style we experienced in Metroid Prime, perhaps by throwing the Zelda storyline into a completely new era. I would even settle for the addition of an interesting story mechanic similar to the time-bending concept of Ocarina of Time (that's way more interesting than the whole "turning-into-a-wolf" thing).
