10 Lengthy Video Games That Were Absolutely Obliterated By Speedrunners

9. Alien Isolation

As a definitively horror-based title, Creative Assembly's Alien Isolation is a game of slow, diligent movement and in other cases; trial and error. The Xenomorph antagonist that hunts you throughout the game is relentless in its pursuit and because running is a sure-fire way of bringing the monster on top of you, going fast is not a helpful option.

Apparently, no one told the speedrunner community this though as they've found ways to limit this danger. As a result, Isolation, an extended twenty-hour struggle for survival, has been cut down to under an hour through various exploits. Entire sections of the game are simply ignored and the threat from the Alien is minimized by those who have dissected its inner code.

There are two ways to speed through the title; an any percent run to get through as fast as possible or a full campaign playthrough with the same focus. The challenge comes through both navigating your way around the Sevastopol and avoiding dying once. Given that using the game's save stations adds too many seconds to the clock, speedrunners complete this title literally perfectly. Talk about tense.

The current record at a mere twenty-three minutes is held by "IFreeMz", closely followed by other attempts which you can actually see on Summer Games Done Quick.
