10 Locations Ubisoft Should Take Far Cry After Primal

2. The Wild West

Like pirates, there's something inherently cool about cowboys.

Games like Red Dead Redemption and Gun allowed players to live out their dreams of exploring the Wild West and engaging in shootouts, but a Far Cry game set in this era puts a whole new spin on the franchise.

For a start, the action is set around a number of towns, with plains to explore and seek shelter in along the way. Finding food, water, clothes, and supplies might force to rob stagecoaches, and quick-draw shootouts are as important as they were in Red Dead Redemption, offering players the chance to earn experience, money, or gear.

Riding a horse is a must, and the beast-riding of Far Cry Primal showed this is definitely doable in this game engine. The desert environment would be a stark change to the colourful tropical climates, with dehydration posing a real threat that players would have to consider if they went too long without water.

Of course, well-worn Western tropes like saloons and poker should all feature, with bar-fights providing some light-hearted fun.
