Don't Starve is one of those games that's just incredibly charming and filled with personality. If you just glanced at it, you'd probably think that if Tim Burton made a videogame, with his trademark style of creepy, loveable weirdos, this would the game that came out as a result of it.

In Don't Starve, you'll play as Winston, a scientist who finds himself lost in a creepy world. As the name suggests, it's up to you to make sure that Winston and his ridiculous haircut Don't Starve. Or, more accurately, make sure that Winston doesn't starve, doesn't go insane, doesn't get eaten by monsters and avoids Charlie, a malevolent entity who lurks in the darkness, at all costs.

To do this, you must guide Winston (and his magnificent beard) through procedurally-generated environments, chopping wood, finding food, making shelters or just pimping out your fashion selection to positively affect Winston's mental state.

Despite its charm, Don't Starve is a game you really have to stick with to appreciate all of its nuances. Even with hours upon hours of gameplay under your belt, this is a title that won't reward you; one run can be the best you've ever done, and on the next you'll be gobbled up by a giant spider before you can make an axe.
