10 Major Fallout 4 Problems The Fans Won’t Admit
6. The Game Is Too Easy Outside Survival Mode
I'm sure that, for as long as I live, I will never forget the absolute despair I felt as my wastelander was ripped to shreds the first time I encountered a Deathclaw in Fallout 3. When first entering the Boston wastes in Fallout 4, I was full of trepidation and genuine fear for encountering one afresh in the new game.
Imagine my disappointment, then, when that first encounter came in tutorial form scarcely more than an hour into the game. Thrust into Power Armour immediately (and we've more on that later) and armed with a gatling gun, I was able to dispatch the beast within moments. Hopes that this was a one off were short-lived, too, when my next Deathclaw battle proved to be just as easy.
Throughout my early time with the game I found a regular pattern emerging: I'd slide the difficulty up for a greater challenge, only to find myself overpowered when I received a new weapon or perk, having to start the process again.
Outside of its now well-honed Survival Mode, Fallout 4 is just far too easy compared to its predecessors. Feeling like the Deathclaws fear me more than I fear them is a strange phenomenon indeed.
