10 Major Fallout 4 Problems The Fans Won’t Admit
2. The Overly Simplified Dialogue Is A Nightmare
Admittedly Fallout 4's dialogue has been something of a talking point since the game's release, and many fans have been forced to concede that the over-simplification of its options was a bad move. Some still defend this, however, but it's worth noting again just how much of a backwards step it really is.
With dialogue options trimmed down to vague summaries or emotional nudges, it's almost always difficult to make sure your character is going to say what you want them to. Choosing the option that most suits your style isn't always straightforward, and p*ssing someone off through an accidental choice can be tremendously frustrating.
It speaks volumes that a PC mod which reveals full dialogue options - akin to how Fallout 3 offered them - in conversation has proved to be so popular with non-console players. It may take up more screen space than Bethesda would like with their newly crafted mo-cap faces, but the control it gives back to the player is a far greater strength.
