10 Major Video Game Mistakes Of The 2010s The Next Gen Must Learn From
1. Not Everything Has To Be Fortnite
Like Minecraft, Fortnite has quickly become of the most played and recognised games of the modern day. While it wasn't the first battle royale by a long shot, it's the one that has stuck around for the longest and continues to dominate the gaming scene.
Seeing as it's made a ridiculous amount of money, other developers were quick to follow in Epic Games' footsteps. First there were other games that were solely battle royales, but now we've started to see games just incorporate battle royales on top of their existing genre. Some work, such as Call Of Duty's Warzone. Others such as Civilisation VI's Red Death Battle Royale mode leaves gamers a little bit confused.
Every time a game is announced it seems inevitable that the question about if it will be a battle royale or have some form of battle royale mode proposed - which is annoying because not every game needs to be a battle royale. In fact we probably have just enough battle royales now with Fall Guys joining the mix.
Instead of copying Fortnite, developers should be aiming to be the next Fortnite in the sense they change the industry - not become one of many copycats.
