We know it's coming, they know it's coming, and now one of Bioware's senior designers has tweeted out a number of high-resolution images of what they're calling 'The Pathfinder', your new character in Mass Effect Andromeda. However, in referring to the new hero with this label, the team have essentially confirmed fan theories surrounding an initial leak of the plot from 2015, one in which the basic setup would involve you playing as the 'Pathfinder'; a character destined to find a new home for all the civilisations stranded in Earth's solar system following the events of Mass Effect 3.

Many new fan theories have already etched out a pretty awesome picture of what Andromeda could play like, honouring both the old and new timelines in the franchise (which you can read more of here), but it's the fact that EA have just pushed it back to 2017 that means we're probably in store for some gameplay footage.

That may sound a little backwards (especially seeing as EA aren't actually attending E3 this year), but considering one year waits are common in the industry - and the fact the Mass Effect brand needs to be fully rebuilt in the eyes of the consumer - it can only mean ME:A makes an in-game appearance during Sony or Microsoft's main conferences, to kick off the anticipation in full.
