For once, a game spoiled by a publisher and not random trolls!

Okay, it's not really something to rejoice in, but I must admit it's a refreshing change of pace compared to the usual barrage of trolls that end up spoiling game stories for their own amusement. That's what exactly happened a Sony's E3 2014 press conference however, as the trailer for the remaster of Naughty Dog's magnum opus contained pretty much every single pivotal moment in the game, including Sarah's death.

It did include a brief spoiler disclaimer to warn people before airing, but it was a pretty short window for fans to close their computers or run out of a packed conference hall. It opened with a grieving Joel huddled over his dead daughter, thereby mitigating the drama and suspense to be had in the title's intro for players yet to experience it for themselves.

Still, it serves as a good reminder for publishers to lay off the spoilers in their marketing material, and will hopefully prevent a mistake of its kind repeating itself in the near future.
