10 Massively Underrated Video Games Based On Movies

Games based on blockbuster movies were ten a penny back in the nineties, with the likes of The Last Action Hero, True Lies and Beethoven’s 2nd (unreleased, but I implore you to check it out for comedic value) hardly championing the cause for movie licenses being much cop.

On that note, though, the console debut for Judge Dredd – based on the Stallone-starring 1995 movie – was pretty damn good.

Not content with churning out a run-of-the-mill experience, developers Probe Software created a unique shoot 'em up come platformer that gives players a range of weapons to arm Dredd with, set against the backdrop of some pretty gorgeous visuals - the majority of which were ripped straight from the movie to pump up the atmosphere.

From the rain-soaked streets of Mega City, to the ghoul-ridden wastelands surrounding it, every level of this game feels different, challenging and suitably brutal. But if brutality ain’t your thing, there is a smart option in the game to arrest your foes instead of riddling them with bullets. You be the judge.
