6. Singularity - The Time Manipulation Device

Singularity is a military shooter that contains mutants, two overused concepts that the beginning of the decade shoved down every consumer's throats. It threatens to put off most people until they get their hand on the time manipulation device and you realize the game's potential.

There's a bunch of satisfying things you can do with the gauntlet such as creating a bubble to freeze time for everything inside or rapidly aging some poor soldier like the villain at the end of The Last Crusade.

You can send massive chunks of the environment back and forward in time for spectacular set-piece moments of course, but it's all the smaller details that elevate the gameplay. You have to de-age old items to solve puzzles, can lift things with gravity and launch them around, and you can be sent whizzing to another period of history in a heartbeat.

The mutants also required some use of different time-altering strategies to beat. On top of it although, it was just satisfying mowing down foes with all the super-human time powers you had at your disposal.

The entire game is a by-the-numbers first-person shooter and completely saved by having the ability to manipulate time.
