6. Mega Man's Colour
Everyone knows about Mega Man's colour change abilities when he equips a new weapon. It was a great addition to the game to show off the different powers. Most games before, and after, this just had a box somewhere on the screen that would show your power up. Sure, Mario would change colour with the Fire Flower and even Kirby eventually began to change colours with some of his copy abilities, but Mega Man did it big and did it right. The point behind this, though, is to give everyone the reason why Mega Man is blue. The NES had a very limited color palette, only having 54 colours available. It had a slightly larger number of blues and Capcom wanted to create as detailed of a sprite as possible within one color range. Inafune has even said that Mega Man is blue simply because of the Nintendo and nothing more.
