5. Dr. Light & Dr. Wily
Dr. Light's and Dr. Wily's full names are Dr. Thomas Light and Dr. Albert Wily. Their names are taken from Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein and even had similarities in their design, but Light's design was based more on Santa Claus, for some reason. The odd thing about their names is that Edison was discovered to have a shaky past when it came to morality with allegations of animal abuse and also inventing the electric chair while Einstein was a pacifist who once said war was a disease. One theory on why Wily was based off Einstein is because Einstein was the mind behind the atomic bomb. Since Japan dealt with the fallout from two bombs being dropped on them, it seems reasonable that they could form connections between a scientist who wanted to spread havoc across the world and Albert Einstein.
