10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Hitman
6. A Developer’s Writing Mistake Is Now A Recurring In-Joke
A single person from IO Interactive was tasked with writing descriptions for every weapon and item in Hitman Contracts and Blood Money. For weapons, it was mostly full of boring stats and whether they were one or two-handed for easily concealment.
Other items will often be described in sinister detail, explaining how deadly rat poison can be against the immune system, or even hinting one particular use for a thick, comfy pillow…
In Hitman Blood Money, a basket of food located in the kitchen from the level ‘A Dance With The Devil’ is actually missing a description. You can tell because when you take it and check your inventory, it says: "Allan please add details."
Clearly, Allan never got the message.
This otherwise innocent blunder has developed into a recurring joke. When you try out the firing range on Hitman Absolution and bag yourself a very specific score of 666 points, a message will pop up and exclaim: “Allan, please add more detail!”
It's even made its way into the latest Hitman game. The prologue mission is littered with sticky notes referring to the developer: "God damn! We still need details here, Allan!"
To be honest, it can only be a good thing (except for Allan).
