10 Mind-Blowing Gaming Features Everybody Takes For Granted

9. Instantly Sharing Gameplay

When platforms like YouTube and Twitch (known as Justin.tv early on) became popular in the late 00’s, demand for methods of capturing gameplay skyrocketed.

Unfortunately, at the time, options were fairly limited. PC gameplay at the time was frequently marred by Unregistered Hypercam 2 watermarks, and console players were forced to shell out upwards of a hundred dollars for an external capture cards.

Fortunately, we’ve moved on from those days, and everyone with a console has at least some capacity to share gameplay. Both the PS4 and Xbox One are capable of streaming to Twitch via the press of a button, and video sharing has become more ubiquitous than ever as a result.

Those who take these features for granted need only hook up a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 and attempt to stream gameplay to remember how difficult that could be. Those consoles weren’t designed with that feature in mind, and they totally pale in comparison to the ease-of-use of modern consoles.

Only time will tell how these features advance during the next console generation, but, as of right now, it’s something for which we should remain thankful.
