A lot of thought went into deciding whether this one or KOTOR deserved to take the #1 spot. However, this has to be the most impressive, unexpected and mind-blowing twist in gaming history. Just the fact that most of you will recognize the game in question from the simple phrase would you kindly is a testament to how memorable it was. The game in question, of course, is BioShock. You play a character named Jack who you know very little about. Youre helped by an even more mysterious character named Atlas and you have to stop a madman named Andrew Ryan. For most gamers, this is all the motivation they need. The game would have been great even without the shocking twist. The beautiful and depressing city of Rapture is as great a world to explore as any. Gameplay is diverse and smooth thanks to the combination of traditional guns with powerful plasmids and the encounters with Big Daddies remain tense and thrilling even after doing them multiple times. Your meeting with Ryan doesnt go like you wouldve hoped. Here you were, thinking you were a hero fighting the good fight and, as it turns out, you are nothing but a pawn being manipulated to further someone elses goals. You are actually Ryans son, taken away when you were young and genetically modified to age faster. The friendly Atlas actually turned out to be Fontaine, a man who was fighting Ryan over control of Rapture. Youve been doing his bidding all along because you were brainwashed to respond to certain commands. All anyone needed to say in order to make you their lapdog was would you kindly. Still stunned by this revelation, the player is left wondering whether killing Ryan is something that he actually wants to do or not. However, Ryan doesnt give you a choice. Using the very same command implanted by Fontaine, Ryan chooses to die of his own free will and makes you the instrument of his demise. Did we leave out your favorite twist? Would you kindly let us know in the comments section.
