2. Releasing 2K20 As They Did
As most know, they couldn't.
2K20 almost killed the entire series dead by launching with so many bugs and glitches it almost seemed like a masterclass in f*ck ups. The graphics were worse than 2K19, the game barely functioned, and 2K scrambled to patch things after already charging full-price for a game that was more tech demo than proper, workable product.
It was as though 2K and VC took a hammer and nail, rested the latter against their hearts and then used the former to smash it in. By releasing 2K20 in the state they did, they took a massive dump on any credibility WWE 2K had left as a franchise. There was no coming back after this one without some serious grovelling.
Instead of actually apologising, 2K has repeatedly made a mess of patches, and the game still isn't playable nearly seven months after first coming out. It's one of the worst wrestling games of all time. Somehow, despite all the bad press last October-December, January made things worse...
