10 Mistakes That Led To WWE 2K's Downfall

1. The 'Y2K20' Bug

When on-board PS4 and Xbox One calendars turned to 1 January 2020, 2K20 couldn't handle it. Weirdly, the game had come pre-packed with a bug that rendered it unplayable. The glitch would become known as 'Y2K20' and get the game trending with unsavoury hashtags like '#FixWWE2K20' all over again.

What a disaster.

Basically, anyone who was gifted the game for Christmas couldn't play the thing a week later until 2K logged on to build another patch. By this point, they'd already put so many quick fixes on a broken system that it ate up HDD space like the second coming of Red Dead Redemption 2 (which, it's important to note, was so big because it was so complex; it also actually worked).

This was the last straw for some who had tried to soldier on though all the negativity. On New Year's Day 2020, 2K and Visual Concepts watched any remaining street cred they had disappear. They, Battlegrounds and all, might never recover from the fall.
